I sew it!

I sew a dress for my daughter for the first time and I sew it by hand. Yes, by hand because I don't have a sewing machine (yet). I want to practice on how to make a pattern and put the fabric all together before I start sewing it using the machine. I actually bought a dress pattern but when I was cutting it and left it on the floor, my daughter grab it and rip it into pieces. I forgot that I have a baby in the house! Haha...But anyway, I just made my own pattern using one of her dress as my guide.

I remembered way back in high school, we have a subject called Home Economics which they taught us cooking, baking, crocheting and sewing and I really enjoyed that class. I used what I have learned in sewing by hand. After 2 days, I finished the dress!

I had left over fabric so I decided to make a matching headband. I saw a tutorial on Pinterest on how to make a flower out of fabric. It was really easy and fun to make.

Seven months old

My baby girl turned seven months old yesterday.

Look how big she is now. She is growing so fast!

Time really does fly so fast. I still remember that time when I was in labor, the most horrible pain that I ever experienced in my entire life but it was all worth it because I have a beautiful baby. She is a very active baby. She is on the move now. She already crawls but backwards! Haha...It's so funny! She also loves to eat vegetables and fruits like sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, peaches, nectarines, avocado and apples. In a few months, she will be a year old and I am so excited to plan her first birthday party.

Happy 7 months Athena!

Orange and black theme wedding cake

I made this wedding cake two weeks ago but I just forgot to post. Ha!

This was a challenge because I wasn't sure if those rock candies were gonna stick on the cake. At first I used buttercream icing but it didn't work, the rock candies were falling off. So I thought of using royal icing which I use for my decorated cookies. And voila, it worked!

The bride also wanted two sheet cakes but she wanted it just a simple one.

This is a buttercream frosted cake and I just their name and made some gerber daisy which also their wedding flowers.

I liked the way it turned out and the bride loved it. It feels good when people appreciate and love my work and that makes me happy too.  *smile*

Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh how I love those colorful ponies! But my favorite is the pink one, well, of course Ha!

I used an edible pen for the details.

Happy Monday!
